Yes, there is a Rocky Mountain, and this hike climbs 2,500′ to the peak. The first 2,000′ are in the first mile when you take the famous Manitou Incline.
Located in the Collegiate Mountains, Mount Yale is the first of three 14ers in the 2019 challenge.
The glacier-carved cirque that forms the epynomous horseshoe is riddled with artifacts from the mining days. This wind-sept peak tops out at 13,898′.
