How the Challenges Work
An overview of how we help people successfully complete these challenges.
Make the Commitment
Register for one of the challenges. There are several registration levels depending on the swag you want.
We provide training, gear and route-planning advice you'll need to make it to the top.
You can join our Big City Mountaineers fundraising team and make your summits count for even more!
Plan Your Hikes
You hike the peaks on your own schedule. You can hike them over six months, six weeks, or even six days.
Connect with others in our challenger-only forums, where you learn about trail conditions and make new hiking friends.
Log Your Summits
Record your successful summit hikes and earn virtual badges along the way to the finish line. You can compare your progress with your friends and encourage and inspire others with your hike logs.
Doing Good
Hiking up a mountain can be good for your body, your mind, and others.
A portion of every registration helps support Big City Mountaineers, providing under-served youth mentoring in the outdoors.
In SoCal, we also support The Heroes Project and their annual Climb for Heroes event.
Over the past eight years, we've raised over $126,000 for these organizations, proving that hiking is not only good for us, but also for others!
